RESERVOIR

The Christchurch City Council’s new 225,000-gallon reservoir in Tuawera Terrace is full and ready to help stem fires such as the one at Clifton Hill in February, 1974.

Extra capacity and higher pressures will be provided by the new reservoir. But last iyear, when construction was i hindered by delays, council officials assured residents that an improved water main into the area had been completed, and water was adequate for fighting any 'summer fires.
