LX Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The fireworks safety campaigner, Mrs Beverley Pent- | land has headed for Auckland for the final leg of her inational safety campaign. Mrs Pentland has spent the last few months travelling I between Invercargill, Dttn- . edin, and Christchurch, pro- ’ moting fireworks safety. She is emphasising hetopposition to a total ban on . fireworks. A ban would mean , that the campaign for safety i would grow out of all pro- , portion. Mrs Pentfand said. , “The next thing you know . someone will want to ban . tennis-balls because children chase across roads and get hit by cars.” she said. Mrs Pentland will meet the ( Minister for Internal Affairs . j(Mr May) in July to discuss ;[the implications of a total i ban.
