Record support for Rangiora Show
Entries for the Rangiora Show on Friday and Saturday have exceeded all expectai tions, surpassing even | the centennial show total of nine years ago. Many observers thought then that the centennial show figures would never be rivalled at an ordinary show of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Entries for the show have been a continuing success story with nearly every’ year the total being a record for any show except for the ’centennial year. Entries for this week-end’s show have soared by 324 over last year to the all-time peak of 3970, topping the 1966 centennial record by 20. With record entries and a full booking of machinery, commercial, and sideshow space, interest in the show |seems greater than ever and I if the enthusiasm of the 'general public matches that 'of the exhibitors, given a [fine day, the association can [look forward to having its most successful show. The show is the first event of a carnival week-end at Rangiora. and although some
e events, mainly horse competi- _ tions, will be held at the e show tomorrow, the main day for the general public is " Saturday, when all the other 11 exhibits and sideshows will 1 be working.
