I N. G. Harris, the rider of Sobeit in the Wellington Handicap at Trentham on Saturday, was suspended for one riding day. In the straight, Sobeit, trying to improve, had trouble in finding an opening and when the chance did come Harris drove the mare through. In clearing Noir Dore (K. S. Cullen), Sobeit moved out fractionally causing Guardian (W. Robinson), which was weakening, to be checked. In fixing the penalty, the judicial committee took into account Haris’s blemish-free record over the last three seasons.
