Takahe repairs planned
The Christchurch City Council is expected to spend a lot of money on renovating the Sign of the Takahe next year. The assistant director of the council’s housing and pro. petty division (Mr K. R. McNeil) said yesterday that more than SI 7,000 might be spent on the job. In its estimates for the next financial year, which begins in March, the City Council had allowed for more than $lO,OOO for work to be done on repairs in the roof, restoring the art work, bringing the kitchen up to health requirements, repairing the stonework, and repairing windows and electrical wiring, he said.
