Fine on the Kaikoura coast. Cloudy this morning elsewhere, with scattered showers but becoming generally fine by afternoon apart from showers persisting about
the Nelson ranges. Moderate temperatures. ( Buller, Westland: Fresh to strong westerlies. Cloudy with occasional showers. The showers heavier, and more widespread at first in the morning with isolated ■ thunderstorms. Becoming I cooler. i Canterbury: Fresh to strong ' north-westerlies. Showers > in the Alps. Otherwise the t weather fine and warm. ' Outlook: Mainly fine east of i the ranges. Showers in the : Alps.
