Philip) must think New Zealanders very simple-minded if he expected them to believe that the exclusion of the TVI cameras from the republic came from a desire not to interfere with the General Election, said the chairman of the Christchurch Committee on Southern Africa (Ms M. L. Logetnan). Ms Logeman said that the South African Government was afraid that a TVI team would uncover some of the truth about such recent events as the wave of arrests of leading figures in both biack and white communities for their opposition to apartheid.
