Talks about petrol price
r.N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. Oil-company representatives met the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer) and top economic officials at Parliament on Friday for talks about increasing the price of petrol. Neither' side would comment after the talks, but a spokesman for the Minister said that discussions had been concerned solely with increasing the price of petrol, and did not touch on such subjects as rationing, or shipping oil directly from the country of origin to New Zealand.
The Minister’s advisers during the meeting included the Governor of the Reserve Bank (Mr A. R. Low) and the Secretary to the Treasury (Mr H. Lang).
