The Matrimonial Property Amendment Bill and the Finance Bill were introduced and read a first time. The Appropriation Bill (No. 2) — the supplementary estimates — was introduced and set down for debate. Papers tabled included the report of the conference of the International Labour Organisation. One Notice of Motion was tabled. Ministers answered seven questions.
The Accident Compensation Amendment (No. 3) Bill and the Private Schools Conditional Integration Bill were returned from Select Committees as ready to proceed with amendments. Urgency was taken on the second reading debates of seven measures. When this was completed the House rose at 4.07 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
