Freestyle ski-ing
New Zealand's top freestyle skiers, among them the former New Zealand alpine racer, Tim Stewart, will compete in a free-tyle competition at Moun> Hutt tomorrow. The event, sponsored by the Imperial (Christchurch! and Methven hotels, wilhave $7OO tn prize money, the over-all winner receiving $4OO. The competition consists of bai'et. aerials, and moguls and the skier with the ties! aggregate from the three events wins the over-all prize. Erwin Kollegget. who was second over all in a senes at Coronet Peak in August is an entrant and has probably the best chance of taking the top money. Kollegger’s best event is the ballet and he is also ven competent at aerials. Stewart is improving quicklv in a! three sections Ginc Cavegn. who was first in the mogul - p ci ion and Geofi Hunt, who was third in the aerials at Coronet Peak, will ensure good comp-tition foi al! prizes The event has been arranged in less than a weox after two competitions — which were to have been arranged by the New Zealand Ski Association’s freestyle sub-committee — did not eventuate.
