Street will be closed

Part of Milton Street, Christchurch, will be closed to traffic other than residents’ cars from 7 a.m. on Monday to allow the Christchurch Drainage Board to lay a sewer line.

The line is being laid between Selwyn Street and Barrington Street. Although the section between Selwyn Street and Simeon Street has been completed, damage has been caused to the north side of the street by traffic. • To prevent that happening again, the street will be closed for about three weeks between Simeon and Everard Streets. When that section is finished, the street will be closed between Everard Street and Barrington Street. That job should also take about three weeks.
