Retail issues continued to lead the sharemarket upward'in relatively active trading on Australian stock exchanges yesterday.
Most of these issues rose to new peaks for the year, with Waltons and Myers rising 4c each to 109 c and 181 c respectively. 1.A.C., Aust. Oil shares succumbed to profit-taking after the recent upsurge, with WoodsideBurmah falling 2c at 98c. Gold issues G.M.K. and Emperor were actively sought, with G.M.K. rising 8c to 98c. C.R.A. rose 4c to 208 c and Great Boulder 2c to 78c. Cudgen was marginally firmer at 77c but Bougainville, B.H. South, M.1.M., Peko-Wallsend and W.M.C. showed minor losses.
