Machinery auction
An auction of farm machinery at West Melton attracted about 300 people. The auctioneer (Mr M. W. Johnston of Pyne. Gould, (Guinness Ltd) said there ••as some good bidding for -■the 100 lots offered. A Grimme Commando potato harvester sold for .$9500, a Massey Ferguson 175 tractor for $2900, a Massey 65 tractor for $B6O, a Morris Commerical threejton truck for $575. and a 'Howard rotary hoe for $5OO.
