Festival club appeal
People who have said they want to join the Festival 1000 club by becoming one of 1000 ticketholders in its raffle, have only a week to do so. Almost 800 tickets have been sold to raise money for the 1976 Arts Festival. When the remaining 200 are sold, $52,000 will have been raised, half of which will be used in buying prizes for the raffle. A ticket entitles holders to membership of the Festival 1000 Club and participation in its functions. Tickets cost $52 each. From October 8. every week for a year a number will be drawn under police supervision. Each week's prize will be $550 in cash or the equivalent in overseas air travel. The target date for the, campaign was originally Sep-: tember 3, but an extension! w-as applied for when a flood' of new enquiries came in, I and the 1000 tickets had not, been sold. Membership will close at I noon on October 8. or when the 1000 tickets are sold if I they go first. '
