Drug squad to probe death

The death of a young man in Christchurch HosCital yesterday morning is eing investigated by the Christchurch drug squad. The man died soon after he had been rushed to hospital by ambulance from a house in Cashel Street A spokesman for. the Criminal Investigation Branch said it was thought the man might have injected himself with some substance before he was

taken to hospital in a collapsed state. The police yesterday were questioning the other occupants of the house about the death. The man’s identity was not released last evening - because relatives had not been told of his death. The exact cause of death would not be known until a post-mortem examination had been held, the police said.
