Shorter week for staff
Some staff at the Ashburton branch of Tekau Knitwear, Ltd, will begin a four- . day working week to offset i the effects of a temporary 1 work shortage. The Ashburton plant manager (Mr P. Datlen) said ’■ yesterday that it was hoped. ’ there would be an increase ’ in export orders within the • next few weeks which would i allow a return to ordinary s working conditions. Between ’ 25 and 30 staff members will ! be affected by the shorter week. h
