Monique Rodahl (North Shore) claimed a remarkable hat-trick of swimming records while competing in an inter-club meeting conducted by the Onehunga Swimming Club at the Tepid Baths last night.

Swimming the first leg of a womens 4 x 100 yards freestyle relay, she shattered both the senior record held by Jaynie Parkhouse (55sec) and the junior record set by Felicity Crawford over five years ago (56.5seci when she clocked 54.8 sec for the 100 yards freestyle. Two other members of the team also bettered the previous junior record. Toni Grayburn (Waltemata) registered an excellent 55.55ec and Gayleen Hogarth (North Shore) 56.35ec. The fourth swimmer. Louise Tanner, clocked 58.2 sec—slicing 7.7 sec off the senior relay' time, and 13.6 sec from the junior mark.

The girls, who all belong to the Vikings squad, had aimed at an average of 58.1 sec to take the senior record, but were well under this for an over-all time of 3mln 44.8 sec.
