Mrs Ford said yesterday that she favoured the President’s views on public appearances, but wished that he would “stay away from the people.” Speaking at a White House ceremony where she recived an award from a woman’s stockbroker organisation, she suggested that his travel plans should be curtailed, but she did not elaborate.
