Right-hand rule

Sir, — Over the last few weeks, I have become increasingly aware that many Christchurch motorists seem to have forgotten that the right-hand rule still exists. Having had to use the Hereford Street • Oxford Terrace intersection frequently, I find

motorists on this route to be the worst offenders. Some of them do not even look to the right, much less give way to the right. At the present time the Ministry of Transport is keeping a special watch on indication and no parking offenders. Surely more accidents could be prevented if it watched the busiest of the uncontrolled intersections in the city and made sure that the righthand rule is being applied. — Yours, etc., GIVE WAY TO THE RIGHT.
