Ice cracks windscreen

(NZ. Press Association) NELSON, Sept. 25. The windscreen of ar N.A.C. Friendship cracker because of severe icing to day.

An N.A.C. spokesman in Nelson said the windscreen had fractured over Motueka when the aircraft was making its approach to Nelson Airport. An icy airstream had been encountered over Cook Strait.

The pilot alerted the control tower in Nelson, and made a normal landing about 11.30 am.
