Going to Trentham
The successful Riccarton apprentice, lan Grant, has passed over mounts at Wingatui tomorrow. Instead he will go to Trentham to ride the Riccarton-trained Lord Sahib in the Lyall Handicap No 2. Lord Sahib sprinted 800 m on the No. 1 grass at Riccarton yesterday. On a track that was soft after overnight rain Lord Sahib recorded 53.3.
Beau Trie, a Riccartontrained acceptor for the Abel Tasman Handicap at Trentham, was not taken north.
Kelvin Quayle changed his plans on learning that it was raining heavily at Trentham yesterday morning, and that a heavy track seemed likely tomorrow
