1958, with the new permanent terminal under construction alongside. The centre shows the scene on the opening of the terminal by Lord Cobham in February, 1960.

The upper photograph Is of the airport as it appears from the airfield as it was last week, and includes the extended frontage to the existing terminal and the new 400 ft long pier.
