Gang hits rival with iron bars

A group of seven motor-cycle gang members. some of them wearing masks, forced ! their way into a house in Captain Springs Road, Onehunga, today and attacked the residents — members of another gang — with iron bars. | The attack left three occupants of the house injured, !and one . was rushed to -Auckland Hospital with head injuries after being allegedly [ hit over the head with an (iron bar. He was not thought to be 'seriously ill. The attack was made shortly after 2.30 p.m., when a group of gang members, said to be Hell’s Angels, piled out of an early model white van and forced their way into the house. According to police, a ! fight then took place before the Hell’s Angels left, leav- : ing three Highway 61 members hurt. The police at first thought that a shooting had occurred at the house and threw up cordons around access roads. However, the van and its seven passengers somehow escaped the road checks and disappeared. Police were still) looking for the van and the’ attackers tonight.
