Action on bus strike

WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. Trade union action is expected against alleged strike-breaking by a private operator in the Invercargill City bus dispute. It has been reported that a private operator with the support of the Invercargill City Council is driving a municipal bus while drivers in the city are striking over the employment of non-; union labour by the council.' Dunedin will be without public transport for at least an hour next Tuesday when; the bus drivers hold a stopwork meeting. Christchurch drivers also want some form of direct' action in addition to the; financial support being given; by union members. An urgent meeting of the) national executive of the union has been called in; Wellington tomorrow.
