Two-year-old parade

Peter Malone, from Riccarton, and Silvabelle, from Washdyke, won the respective heats of the two-year-old parade at Ashburton yesterday. Peter Malone, a Falconhurst— Golden Melody colt prepared by B. R. Mills for Mrs R. R. Brownlee, came out best by half a length in the colts’ and geldings’ heat. In a tight finish for the minor placings, Muskato, a Final Orders—Lady Be Good colt in R. T. Harris’ Tuahiwi stable, beat Flashlight, a Ring Around The Moon—Nuclear Neon colt prepared by E. P. Corboy, by a head, with an unnamed Aristoi—Bellexcite colt, a member of W. M. Turner’s Washdyke team, a neck away, fourth.

Silvabelle, by Silver Dream from Dolamin, prepared for Messrs J. P. Leonard and L. J. Mee by M. R. Jones, led through-1 out the fillies’ heat and beat Tachyon, a Greek God—Owl’s Wing filly in P. H. Jones’s RicI carton stable, by half a length. These two had the finish to themselves. The third placegetter, Bronze Reef, a Postillion —Rocks Ahead filly in M. J. Wadley’s Riccarton stable, was three lengths away and eight [lengths ahead of a Falconhurst—(Minegojo filly, a stablemate of I the runner-up.
