MINNOW ON THE SAY, by A. Philippa Pearce, is now re-issued in the Oxford Children’s Library (N.Z. price $3.55). This is the first story by a winner of the Carnegie Medal; the Minnow is a canoe in which two boys explore the Say, a fenland, river, and the story is probably memorable enough for most people who have read it to want to own their own copy.
