‘Speakeasy’ in Civic

The TV2 programme, “Speakeasy,” will be recorded in the Civic Theatre in Christchurch tomorrow, and will look at the Women’s Electoral Lobby. Christchurch viewers are not seeing the programme at present because of the restriction on afternoon TV2 transmission.

The programme, which is produced by Donald Hope Evans, will, include women city councillors, M.P.s, female election candidates for the General Election and a political scientist, Mr Nigel Roberts, who will examine the likely effect of the organisation.

Christchurch has been sending inserts to the programme originating in Auckland, but this is the first time “Speakeasy” will be wholly recorded in the south. Further programmes are planned in Christchurch in October.

Tomorrow’s recording will be carried out with a selected audience, and a public audience.
