State pay talks to resume

Pre** Associationi WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. Another round of talks on wage increases for public servants will be held at Parliament tomorrow. Representatives of the Combined State Service Organisations and the State Services Commission will meet the Minister of State Services (Mr Faulkner). The C. 5.5.0., which began by- claiming a wage increase of 8.5 per cent, has reduced its claim to 7.05 per cent since the last round of discussions on the issue. This was made up of 4.8 per cent loss of relativity with wages paid in the private sector, plus the 2.25 per cent bargaining limit, said the secretary (Mr D. P. Long). In reducing the relativity claim from 6.25 per cent to 4 8 per cent the C.S.S.O. had accepted the January cost-of-living increase at 4 per cent.
