Safe-break thwarted
After trying unsuccessfully ] to open a safe, thieves stole an electronic calculator; worth $lOO from the ] premises of •A. J. Palmer,;' Ltd, at 355 Lincoln Road, on ; Tuesday night. The police said that the burglars tried to open a safe using tools on the premises.; They entered the building by ] forcing a rear door. | Jewellery, clocks and liquor worth $166 were taken from a flat in Hereford Street on Tuesday night. Entry was; gained by smashing a pane of glass in a door. An insecure bathroom window allowed burglars to enter a house in Bower Avenue and remove a 22in I colour television set, valued at $BOO.
