More beds in private hospitals

The number of beds in ■ licensed private hospitals has • increased in each of the last ■ three years, according to the annual report of the Depart1 ment of Health, tabled in I Parliament. i At March 31, 1975, there > were 4430 licensed private beds, compared with 4250 and 3992 in the two preceding years. For purely medical private hospitals the latest figure was 2397 beds, and for those treating both medical and surgical patients, 1177 beds. The total number of private hospitals decreased by one in the three years, although three new hospitals > were opened. .. - ~
