A heightened “retro-style” decor, reminiscent of the 1930 s and 19405. now fashionable in Europe, has failed to save Biba’s. one of London’s biggest specialists in women's ready - to - wear, which has announced that it will close this autumn, Agence France Presse reported.
Tw 0 years ago. the store was redecorated in the fashionable trend, but has now announced that it lost $2.7m from March of last year to March. 1975. The store’s owners, British Land, one of Britain’s largest building companies, said it had lost a total of $13.5m in the same period, and would lease Biba’s space to Marks and Spencer. Biba’s management was undecided about whether to move to more modest quarters or close down completely.
