TRAINING: Successful applicants attend a departmental course of Instruction from January to November, 1976, covering communications operating practices and procedures and allied sub jects to communicator qualifying standard. After gradualon practical famillarlstlon training will be given in either Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch Communications Centres, and at selected aerodrome field units prior to posting to full operational duties which initially will be to one of the Communications Centres. During the third year of operational service Cadets attend a second formal training course of tuition for completion of the Communications Officer qualification which is a prerequisite for advancement to supervisory positions.
SALARY: Commencing salary In accordance with educational qualifications related to the Public Service scale. Salary is supplemented by penal rates and shift allowances for work on weekends and at night. PROMOTION: There are good prospects for promotion on a competitive basis. BOND: Cadets will be bonded on entry to serve in the New Zealand Public Service for a period of 3 years from the date of completion of their initial training course in 1976.
