No decision lias yet been made to mount an official search for the 28ft ketch Veronica — -now five days overdue at Lvttelton.
; Nothing has been seen or j I heard of the Veronica and her >! three-man crew since she ;!sailed from Gisborne on AugJust 16, bound for Dunedin via i (Lyttelton. The ketch carried fuel and 11 stores for seven days, and i was due to call at Lyttelton ;' last Thursday. Regular radio broadcasts have drawn no response from the overdue vessel, and • coastal shipping and commer- ; cial aircraft — which were . asked to watch for her — iihave reported no sightings, i The police said last eventing that the decision on ’! whether an official search 'would be mounted now- lay uwith the search and rescue ; division of the Ministry of (Transport in Auckland. The Veronica was being 1: taken from Gisborne to ! Dunedin by her new owner, JMr R. W. Hay, of Ivanhoe !,Road. Dunedin. The other ■ 'two men on board are Messrs ; R. A.
