Camp for diabetics

A week-end seminar camp for young diabetics, to help them become independent in their homes, at work and socially, will be held at the Woodend Youth Lodge from October 3 to 5.

The organisers of the camp, the Christchurch Diabetes Society’s Young Adults Group, feels that many young people do not get enough information about diabetes from their doctors.

The young people will be shown how to inject themselves, instead of relying on their parents, and how to balance their diet. A doctor, a nurse and dietician will be at the camp.
