Helicopter alight in mid-air

(A Z. Press Association - HASTINGS. A helicopter caught fire in ' mid-air, a forced Standing on a Mangleton farm. '35 miles south-west of Hastings on Monday. The pilot, Mr Lyn Wilson, survived his second helicopter crash, when he stepped, uninjured from the damaged machine after a crash landing on the only piece of flat ground beside a sleep ridge. Mr Wilson had been sprayling pasture when the 'machine began to lose power, and smoke began to fill the icockpit.

He said that he almost cleared the ridge before the machine “slid in,” and landed upright.
