Drainage Bd tenders

A tender of $187,557.87 for construction of the Sparks Road relief sewer has been accepted by the Christchurch Drainage Board. The tender, from J. C. Haworth and Sons, Ltd, was one of three ranging from $181,480 to $307,606. Other tenders accepted by the board included one from British Pavements (Canterbury), Ltd, of $67,068.60 for piping of the Awatea Drain from Springs Road to Gibson Street. It was the lowest of eight tenders for the job which ranged up to $103,258. Blunt Brothers, Ltd, lodged a successful tender of $51,736.44 for piping Reeces Drain from Sawyers Arms Road, through Highsted Road to Cotswold Avenue. Theirs was the lowest of nine tenders up to $86,986. The Drainage Board also accepted a tender of $11,145 from John Hallissev for construction of the Huntsbury Avenue stormwater outfall. It was the lowest of two tenders for the job, the other being $15,117.73.
