The successful applicant will be responsible to the assistant drainage engineer for the organisation and supervision of maintenance and repair of all public drains within the city boundaries. He should possess experience in estimating, designing and constructing drainage extensions and relays, as well as the effective and economic utilisation of men, machines and materials. The Health Centre is being established by the Board to provide a health service for the Wainuiomata Community. The service will include several general practitioners to supplement the present community medical facilities and will also include various paradmedical personnel. Applicants should have a professional qualification (Diploma of Social Work or its equivalent) or social work experience. Considertion will also be given to holders of a university degree in social science. An ability to work co-operatively is essential and a knowledge of medical and other community services would be an advantage. The work will involve helping patients of the Health Centre and their families, solve health related personal and social problems and includes counselling and the use of community resources.
