Man found unconscious

A man was found lying unconscious across a gutter in Cashel Street shortly before 8.30 last evening. He is Keith Raymond Donaldson, aged 44, who was taken to hospital with a fractured skull. It was at first thought that he had been thrown or had fallen from a vehicle, and the police interviewed the occupants of two cars. But there was no evidence to show that this was the case, a police spokesman said. The police had also discounted the possibility of assault for the time being, he said.
