Chairman stands down
The New Zee,land Games Organising Committee is to have a new chairman. Mr H. C. Blazey, who was the chairman for the first Games this year, told a meeting of the committee last evening that he would be standing down. However, he said he did not wish to fade out entirely, and if invited would be only too happy’ to serve in some capacity in the organising of the second Games in 1977.
Mr Blazey said he hoped that Mr M. F. Hunter, who has been the vice-chairman, would take his place. Mr Hunter was not present last evening.
A succession of speakers paid tribute to Mr Blazey’s leadership. Most of the other members of the committee indicated that they would be willing to serve again.
