Share prices easier on Aust, market

Share prices closed on an easier note in listless trading on Australian stock exchanges yesterday, as the market continued to assess the impact of Tuesday night’s Budget.

Traders said that although there was some evidence of buying support for selective issues, the genera] trend remained bearish. Coal stock Utah fell 10c to 760 c in spite of the higher coking coal rices negotiated. A.A.R., Coal and Allied, and Thiess also fell. Industrial leader B.H.P. dropped 6c at 710 c while CSR and E.Z. Industries fell 5c each. Cyclone attracted market i attention with a sale of some

330,000 stock units at an unchanged pried of 210 c. The Wales rose 2c at 594 c but 'other banks were weaker. Tooth, A.S.L., Elders G.M. and Woolwbrths recorded marginal gains. Of the mining shares, B.H. South, C.R.A., Qld. Mines, Poseidon, Emperor, Woodside-Burmah and Cudgen fell back.
