Long-day accidents
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The daylight saving experiment last year had little effect on traffic accidents the Minister of Transport (Sir Basil Arthur) said. During the daylight saving months, from November to February, traffic accidents dropped 2.7 per cent in comparison with the correspondding months of the previous year, he said in a statement. “Although not statistically significant, this accident reduction does suggest that the j experiment could be worth ! continuing from a road safetv ipoint of view,” Sir Basil said. ' “The accident number propped from 4363 in the 1974 summer to 4246 this year.
