The Football Association of Malaysia made a record $U5360,000 in gate-receipts during the nineteenth Merdeka (Independence) football tournament which ended in Kuala Lumpur with South Korea beating Malaysia 1-0 in the final. The profit of SUS 102,000 from the 15-day tournament was a record. The solitary goal scored by Lee Young Moo, a striker, from a corner enabled the Koreans to avenge their defeat by Malaysia by the same margin ' last year. Malaysia won in 1973. too.
