Try-scoring youngsters
The “nursery” grade of: Rugby league — for play- 1 ers of eight years of age or younger — has produced more than its share of prolific scorers this season. Shane Everest, the stand-off half in the unbeaten Sydenham A team which plays in the western section of the competition, has amassed the incredible total of 61, tries in just 13 matches. His partner in the halves,, Jimmy Clydesdale, has scored 30 tries, and they were both chosen for the Canterbury team. Woolston’s premier supporters have had little! to cheer them over the last few months, but the deeds of Esene Faimalo in the club’s eight-years side — which has lost only one game — have been some compensation. Faimalo has contributed' 39 tries, in spite of missing four fixtures when on holiday in Samoa. j
