No-Litter Month

Pride Committee has fina- : lised a programme of activities for No-Litter Month in October.
On Saturday. October 4, which is Clean New Zealand Day, there will be a children's parade of “Wombles" (fictitious bunny-like characters originating in Britain) and “Litter Critters." This is being organised in conjunction with Aunt Haysi.
The committee hopes to have the co-operation of service clubs, and youth groups to contribute in their own way to No-Litter Month. ■ On October 5 the City [Council will have a free rubI bish tip day at Bexley Tip and the committee is going ito approach other councils about doing the same.
A primary school seminar will be held on October 6. [ which is the first day of Noi Litter Month. Activities in [the Square have also been arranged for October 6 from noon to 2 p.m. A small choir from Redcliffs School will [sing the litter song and the Cathedral Grammer School will also be asked to provide some light entertainment. The committee also plans to place window displays in offices around the Square. On October 13 a seminar for intermediate schools will be held.
