Extension to library
The Christchurch City! Council cultural committee will recommend to the council that an extension costing $48,342 be made to the New Brighton library. The committee favours awarding a contract to Mason. Roberts, Williams Construction for $39,642 fori the construction of the exten-; sion and replacing the present! roof. The cost would be financed from estimates and the sale of land. The committee authorised the city architect to arrange, the purchase and siting of a movable building for the Canterbury Public Library. The cost — about $36,000 — will be met from the sale-of-land account. The building will be placed on the lawn in front of the library house.
