Controller of programmes is Chch man

The controller of programmes for TV2, (Mr Kevan Moore,) is a former pupil of Christchurch Boys' High School. His first involvement with broadcasting

was his work as a teenage radio technician with the N.Z.B.C. He later went to Sydney where he worked for TCN Channel' 9, and his experience in Australia led to an appointment with the fledgling N.Z.B.C. television in Wellington.

In 1964 he returned to Sydney where he worked for the Australian Broadcasting Commission,

He was a contract producer for the N.Z.B.C. from 1966, and although his productions were wide-ranging, he is probably best known for his productions of “C’mon”, “Happen Inn” and "Sing.” Mr Moore says there is no doubt that TV2 will differ from its competitor. “One has been established as a network system” he said.•

“We will have much more regional involvement. We want viewers to regard TV2 as their station.”

Mr Moore recently returned from a six-week world trip during which he studied television in numerous countries, and managed to lure back to New Zealand some expatriate talent.

Among them are Linda McDougall, head of information programmes, who was producing Granada Television “World in Action” programmes, and 8.8. C. producer John Mcßae, the head of drama, who won an Emmy for his production of “Tom Brown’s Schooldays.”
