Greengrocer can buy
For $l3O, the greengrocer on the corner can buy ten 10 second spots on TV2 in Christchurch. With the advent of the second channel, television advertising is being taken to the small businessman,. as well as the major advertiser.
Mr Maurice Uriich, thei controller of sales and mar-1
keting, says he intends to provide the best possible service to his clients. He is also determined to broaden the base of television advertising, while maintaining high standards. He is a believer in what he calls the, “four p’s and an s.” They stand for programmes, programme placement, programme presentation, parochialism, and service. He believes they all inter-relate to bring TV2 closer to the communities it serves. Mr Uriich has worked in business since he left the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1945 after serving as a pilot. He was involved in negotiations which resulted in the formation of a major oil company and he worked in the oil industry in a number of countries. In 1970 he joined the N.Z.B.C, sales section in Wellington. Two years later he was posted to Dunedip as sales manager for the local television station. With the formation of TV2,. he was appointed to his present posiItion.
