DEAL WITH IRAN

<y Z. Prttl AitocuUUmf AUCKLAND.

A deal between New Zealand and Iran, which could amount to a significant breakthrough for New Zealand trade, was announced in Auckland tonight by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Moyle). Mr Moyle said that the deal involved the shipment of frozen lamb and dairy produce to Iran.

He said that the deal would mean the shipment of about 10,000 tons of frozen lamb to Iran in September. “If everything goes according to plan we could see the shipments tripling or quadrupling next year,’* Mr Moyle said. Mr Moyle could not say what the deal would mean in terms of money for New Zealand or give any other details.
