Integrity of salesmen
f.y.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 30. The integrity of life insurance salesmen cannot be legislated, says the retiring president of the A.M.P. Society Representatives’ Association (Mr M. Heyes). In a statement issued before the annual meeting of the association in Christchurch, Mr Heyes said that calls had been made for laws requiring the registration of life insurance salesmen. But this would not guarantee the honesty of representatives or protect potential buyers of insurance. He believed life offices ensured they employed only people of integrity who were given thorough training. Mr Heyes said he believed that proposals now being mooted suggested standards lower than those set by many life offices. (Story, Page 3)
