Alcohol on sports fields
I Sir, — Recently, when at- ■ tending a primary schools’ hockey tournament, I was I amazed to see spectators ; drinking alcohol while ’ watching from the sideline. The bottles were quite vis- . ible, but admittedly they i drank from glasses. I am not ' a “wowser,” but feel that at [ 1 p.m. on a Sunday, and at a prirpary schools’ tournament, which ■ lasted only about two-and-a-half hours, : the thirst cannot be so 1 gieat. Why not boost associ- ■ ation funds and buy a can of coke? The contents too weak perhaps — or is it the I people? — Yours, etc., NOT A WOWSER. June 30. 1975.
